Firdous Jamal (Urdu: فردوس جمال; born 9 June ) is a Pakistani television, theatre, stage and film actor.
Early life and education
Firdous Jamal was born as Firdous Khan to Baz Muhammad Khan, a businessman, in Peshawar on 9 June , and after earning his BA from Islamia College he tried to begin his artistic career as a singer before switching to acting.[3]
Career
Having launched his acting career with a Hindko drama serial called Badnami Dey Toway in the mids, he has since then acted in at least TV plays, stage plays, radio plays and 50 films, with his work consisting in all the major languages of Pakistan.[1][2][4][5]
Personal life
Family
His son Hamza Firdous is an actor,[6] an "award winning web drama producer and player in Ireland"[7] who has had roles in dramas like O Rangreza or Ghughi, while another son, Bilawal Firdous, whose professional name is Bazil Firdous, is a model and aspiring player, with whom he opened his own production house, Firdous Jamal Films.[8]
Health issues
He was diagnosed with colon cancer in December [9][10] and currently going through remission.
